Introduced by U.S. Representative Michael M. Honda, it was passed unanimously by the U.S. House of Representatives on July 30, 2007. The resolution defines the “Comfort Women” system as the largest and most unprecedented human trafficking case of the 20th century and recommends that the Japanese government issue a formal apology, accept responsibility, and provide historical education on the “Comfort Women” issue.
